Based in Dayton Ohio. I have been fishing all my life. I have helped people catch more largemouth bass, catfish, carp, crappie, musky and saugeye with tips, techniques and local locations that I personally fish. I am extremely passionate about being active, healthy and developing the proper techniques. But I’m also extremely passionate about the catch. And I will help my clients improve their skills to be successful. I catch and release bass. I fish in several tournaments a year and I was awarded angler of the year in 2020. I took 1st place several times and I was ranked in the top 5 in almost every tournament I fished.

As a fishing instructor based in the greater Dayton area, I have been teaching anglers how to catch fish from wading in the rivers to catching fish from kayaks. I am experienced in different species and different types of water. I’ve been told I’m tough but understanding, giving each client the individual guidance they need to reach and exceed their limits. Through intense preparation and realistic goal-setting, I motivate, inspire, and develop my clients to become more then they would ever expect. I fish several tournaments a year and in 2020 I won two tournaments and placed in the top 5 in several more. 2021 I won event #2 for Napra and broke the single day record. I won the Angler Cup and the Capital Cup.
2022 I have won the wade war championship, Copple cup again and 3 elite series.

Do I need to be at a certain fishing level to train with Fishing With Grant?
You do not need any experience. We work from beginners to serious anglers.
How is Fishing With Grant different from other instructors?
We are your instructor and fishing buddy. We fish along side of you and coach and provide tips and techniques.
What tackle do I need for the classes?
You provide your own rod and reel. You want to learn on your equipment to dial in and catch fish. If you do not have a rod and reel we can provide you with one with the option to buy if you like. If there is a certain type of lure you would like to fish with let us know. We can provide the ideal fishing platform for you. YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN FISHING LICENSE.....

Do I need to be a certain age?
We do not have an age preference. 17 and under we would prefer to have a guardian attend or documentation from guardian allowing the child to participate in classes. Everyone must sign the waiver before any session or class. Click on classes on top of the page and you will scroll to the bottom of the page to see the waiver of liability.

Alex's Story
My name is Alex Peters and I would like to share with you a little about myself and how I started my custom lure shop. I created Outta Line Lures in 2016 out of my garage. A short time later I created a group page, on Facebook, named Fishing River Smallmouthin Ohio.
I grew up in rural Ohio around Indian Lake. As a kid, I would fish with my grandfather at Lake Erie I would also fish farm ponds as I rode my four wheeler through the countryside
When I got older, I raised my own two beautiful daughters and often took them out on my kayak. Eventually, I decided to start custom painting fishing lures for my own personal use. After catching my first fish on a lure I painted myself, I was hooked!
My children encouraged me to put them on social media and sell them. As time passed, I grew my shop to what it is today. I am elated to share my custom lure shop with all fishermen, created by a lifelong fisherman, for you! Make sure to check out Outta Line Lures! We are creating a new line of FWG lures. Camp Honor's Story
Camp Honor was started in 2024 by Matt Simmons, a career firefighter and United States Navy veteran. Through 28 years of serving his country and community, he has seen firsthand the effects of PTSD on those who serve their communities. In his experience, there have been minimal resources available to help with PTSD, and a stigma for those who seek traditional assistance. Through his own journey, Matt found that through his foundations of Faith, Family, and Hunting, he unintentionally built tools for resilience. He now wants to share those tools with those who have sacrificed so much.
OUR MISSION
We aim to reduce veteran and first responder suicide and the impact of trauma on our nation’s heroes by offering hunting and peer support as a means to start the healing process.
WHAT WE DO
We provide all-expense-paid hunting and fishing opportunities for veterans and first responders. During these hunts, the hunter will be accompanied by experienced guides who are trained in peer support. Each hunt will provide an opportunity and atmosphere for emotional healing.

$180-5 hours
Bank Fishing-Shore fish any body of water of your choice within a reasonable distance from Dayton Ohio. If you live further away we can negotiate pricing. We supply the poles and lures you will need. We will also have the option of edited video that we can take during our classes. This is an additional $75. We also have group rates to accommodate more anglers. Just ask us.
$180-5 hours
Kayak Fishing-Fish any lake of your choice within a within a reasonable distance from Dayton Ohio. If you live further away we can negotiate pricing. We supply the poles and lures you will need. We also have the option for an edited video we take during the class at an additional cost of $75. We do not provide the kayak...
$300-5 Hours
Boat Fishing- Fish any lake of your choice within a reasonable distance from Dayton Ohio. If you live further away we can negotiate pricing. I can provide food and drinks. We also supply the poles and lures you will need. I will also include the option of edited video that I take during our classes. It is an additional cost of $75. We can only take two anglers out at a time. Don't want to over crowd the boat and give you plenty of room to move around and we can be more hands on to each angler.

Wading Fishing- Fish any body of water of your choice within a reasonable distance from Dayton Ohio. If you live further away we can negotiate pricing. We also supply the poles and lures you will need. We will also have the option of edited video that we can take during our classes. This is an additional cost of $75. We teach you how to catch several variety of fish on light tackle.

Do you want to have fun and learn some great fishing techniques and tips? If you do, Grant is your guy. He is very knowledgeable in lake, pond and river fishing. He has been fishing the Dayton area for a lot of years. He will explain to you how to use and when to use the different baits like lipless crank baits, square bill crank baits, jigs and jerk baits. He is very laid back and easy to talk to. He truly cares about making you a better angler. I just started fishing last summer.
