🎣❤️ This is exactly why I do what I do.
Recently, Fishing With Grant had the honor of spending the day with the amazing residents and staff from Resident Home Association of Greater Dayton Inc., providing quality residential services and support to people with developmental disabilities since 1966.
After the trip, I received a message that truly touched my heart:
“Everyone had a great day - all the way home they talked about what they caught, and with every good fishing story, they embellished a bit. Everyone caught at least 6 of something by the end. By my count we had at least 17 bluegills, 4 sunfish, 7 turtles, 1 spider, and a whole lot of plants!”
Hearing that everyone spent the ride home sharing fishing stories, laughing, and reliving their catches means more than words can express.
A special thank you to Vicki for the kind words and for trusting David and me to be part of such a memorable experience. Watching Julie and Mike experience fishing for the very first time and seeing their excitement was something I’ll never forget.
One part of Vicki’s message really stood out:
“Today was connecting with fishing and the rest didn’t matter.”
That’s what fishing is all about. It brings people together. It creates friendships, confidence, memories, and moments that last far beyond the day on the water.
Thank you to everyone from Resident Home Association of Greater Dayton for spending the day with us. The smiles, laughter, high-fives, and stories made this one of the most rewarding trips we’ve ever had.
I’m grateful we crossed paths at the Outdoor Experience at Wright State University, and I’m looking forward to creating more memories together in the future.
🎣 Fish were caught.🐢 Turtles were everywhere.😊 Smiles never stopped.
Days like this remind me why Fishing With Grant exists.
